The Next Big Thing

I was tagged...or nominated by the amazing Robin Badillo to take part in The Next Big Thing.
So thank you
Robin Badillo :D

The Next Big Thing is an opportunity for me to talk about a work in progress or works in progress.

So, let's begin the fun :P

What is the working title of your next book?
I’m working on a number of things at the minute. The three I'm mainly working on are called Dark Desires, Love Kills, and True Power.

Where did the idea come from for the book?
Dreams mainly—though Dark Desires is connected to my Cursed in Darkness series, so that didn’t come as a dream, it just wrote itself.

What genre does your book fall under?
All of them fall under Erotica, Paranormal Romance.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
Oh well…now that’s a hard one. I’m boring and don’t watch a lot of movies LOL!

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
Dark Desires: Without a memory of who he is and waking to find himself in the middle of nowhere, a vampire must trust a human in order to get his memories back before his past comes back to kill him.

Love Kills: Destined to change the fates of the Demons from an impending apocalypse, Immortal Rayne can do nothing but train to prepare. When a Demon who can take Rayne’s Immortal life away from her arrives, Rayne realizes the apocalypse was closer than she thought.

True Power: Lillyanna is an elemental witch who can change the lives of others. Jack is a vampire who can save Lillyanna from death. John is man cursed to suffer for eternity. When they all meet, only one can survive.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?
My book will be taken to a publisher. I'd like to take it to Extasy Books, but if it's going to be more than 150,00 words long, I'd have to take it somewhere else.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Dark Desires, not long at all. Once I started writing, I just didn’t stop and managed to write the entire thing in around two weeks.

Love Kills, that’s still an ongoing book so I haven’t actually got a draft of it yet. I'll get there though.

True Power is a 150,000 word book I wrote when I was fourteen. I’m rewriting this book, so I have the draft of it already. It took me around a month to write the entire book when I was fourteen. Rewriting it will most definitely take me longer.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Hmmm...I honestly couldn't. I tend to write books that can't be compared to others, so I know no one has read a book like mine.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?
Dark Desires…I was inspired to write a “spin-off” series of Cursed in Darkness when I read Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series and her spin-off series.

Love Kills I was inspired to write after watching Immortals. I’m not joking. The Immortals…or Gods are awesome in that film. After watching it, I dreamed about what I would do if I were Immortal, and thus, Love Kills was born.

J.K. Rowling inspired me to write True Power. I was a major Harry Potter fan and the thought of having my own witch series out there in my name is what made me start writing to begin with.

What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
Well I’m all about cliffhangers. Anyone who has read my Cursed in Darkness series will tell you that. I’ve been named “Queen of cliffhangers” and then the woman who named me that changed it to “Queen Bee of Cliffhangers”. Dark Desires has a lot of turns and twists that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat and the ending will definitely leave you wanting more.
Love Kills…well I can’t say anything about that yet. This book will be my most challenging book yet. As the logline says: “If you fell in love with the one person who could kill you, what would you do?” ;)
True Power, well this’ll actually be my most “gory” book I’ve ever written. Well it does have a witch, vampires, Undead and a cursed man in it :P
I pack my books with a lot of fighting and sex to keep you wanting more and with a story and cause mixed in, everything is tied together. When you read my books, you’re in the middle of a fight. You’re the one fighting and when it comes to the love making, well, I’m sure you can figure that out yourself.

Thank you for taking the time to read all about my works in progress.

Head over to these other amazing authors to see what they have to say about their works in progress

  1. True Power.
We start our trip to Lillyana’s world by waking up in a bedroom in flames, and soon we realize that they’re her own creation. Lilly is a witch, but unlike the other ones of her kind she can control all of the elements.
For that reason she's driven to a place where her past catches up when she’s reunited with an old friend that’s been her secret love for years.
She struggles to accept the reality of her powers, she knows that she’s a really powerful witch but for lack of experience and guidance she lacks the confidence in herself to not kill everybody around her.
The most important thing on this brave trajectory is that Lilly will see that love and true friendship will help her unleash her true form and her true feelings. Her friends will help her face the evil being that puts her and everyone’s existence at risk.
Lilly is a strong, determined, loving person that worries about the others around her. I have great expectations for this series, I loved the characters. It really catches me when a story is filled with strong and determined characters. Can’t wait to read the sequel to Lilly’s saga!
    Well done Natalie!
